Yes. Responses can be anonymous or anonymised. There are different ways to allow or create anonymous responses in Spark Chart.
First, there is a function to automatically anonymise responses in the Project and Mission settings. In this case, when a participant submits their survey responses their personal details and email address are automaticlly anonymised.
Second, if a Satellite is set to allow respondents to complete the survey without registering their details, then their responses will be anonymous. If the project is set to anonymise responses, then even if the respondent is required to enter their details, they will be anonymised automatically when they submit their survey.
Anonymising participant responses automatically on survey completion
The Advanced tab in the Mission Settings includes the function to anonymise survey responses. When anonymising is turned on, participant details are anonymized when they complete and submit their survey. Administrators can turn this feature on and off. Users can anonymise but cannot turn the anonymise feature on.
The anonymize option can be applied at any time. Either before, during or after a project is complete.
This feature allows surveys to be distributed with names and email addresses and followed up with email reminders. However, once a participant has completed a survey, their personal details and email address are no longer shown. The participant name is replaced with "Anonymous" and a number but their personal details are not shown.
How to anonymize participant responses
Anonymizing is enabled in the Advanced Tab in Edit Project or in the Mission settings.
Allowing anonymous registration from a Satellite
There are several registration options in a Satellite.
- If the Satellite registration is set to None then the participant will be totally anonymous.
- If the Satellite is set to Required, then the participant is required to enter their name and email address.
- If the Satellite is set to Optional then the participant has an option to not enter their details and go straight to the survey.
However, if the project is set to Anonymise in the project or mission settings then participant details will automatially be anonymized when they submit their survey, even if they have entered their personal details when registering.
